About the service

Reaching Families is a parent-carer led charity who deliver a range of services for parents, carers and families of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in West Sussex.

Your child does not need a diagnosis for you to access any of the following services:

Making Sense of It All – in-depth parent-carer guide covering issues from birth to adulthood

Factsheets – a library of resources on a wide variety of subjects tailored to the needs of families in West Sussex

Training – workshops on a range of subjects including ADHD, Autism, anxiety, behaviour, benefits, education, resilience, sensory issues, sleep, etc. Plus a foundation course on SEND and another on parent-carer wellbeing

Face-2–Face – peer befriending, information, and emotional support for parents whose children are undergoing (or recently undergone) diagnosis 

Benefits Advice Service – 1-2-1 professional advice and editing support for families of children and young people applying for DLA, PIP and Carers Allowance 

Umbrellas – parents support groups based in Billingshurst, Littlehampton, Worthing and online via Zoom

Facebook group – information, signposting and peer support from over 5,000 members
