About the service
At DRI we recognise that our strength is in the communities that we are a part of. Together we can support each other through anything, and no one should have to suffer alone.
DRI’s purpose is to develop human capital and to create a safe environment for the learning and development of ethnic minority individuals, communities and organisations. We want to encourage and train individuals to lead themselves in order to lead other people, organisations, communities and societies.
“Two is better than one, because they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble.”
Mental health draws people into mental isolation and makes them feel like they are alone in their experience or feelings. This is why we believe that communication and advice, the testimonies of others, and genuine compassion and love for one another can only lead to good things and healing.
Our community offers a range of resources including events, training and development, community projects, and research programmes. We aim to support individuals to lead themselves holistically, and in turn lead their organisations and communities in the same manner.
